Altaf Ahamad Khan, a Kashmiri youth who has strong connections with Hizbul Mujahideen has been arrested from Kumali in Kerala's Idukki District this week. Altaf had been staying in the tourist town for about five years. He is also suspected to have made trips to Jammu and Kashmir during this period. The police force have also recovered an identity card in which his name was written as Muhammad Ahammad Butt. Recently a top People's War Group(PWG) leader was also arrested from Ernakulam district. Kerala seems to be a safe home for the terrorist for hiding themselves and it has become a major threat to its tourism industry. Studies have revealed that Idukki, Kochi and Waynad are the most sought after places by the terrorist.
