| Dental Tourism in Kerala |
| 08.21.05 (11:29 pm) [edit] |
|
Dental tourism is another area in Kerala tourism which is booming since last few years. The fact behind this boom is that, the dental treatment in Kerala is much cheaper than in any part of India. Adding to it, Kerala can also boast of highly qualified dentists and dental clinics with the latest technologies. So people from outside the state flood into the state for dental treatment. They usually does this as a two in one package. They usually arrange a tour package to Kerala and also gets thier teeths and jaws treated. The differenc e in charge of a Dentist from US to India is worth a thought. That is why Kerala has recently become a major tourist hub of Dental Care Solutions. You can have your tooth fixed and make your holidays memorable at the same time or simply, enjoy the different hues of Mystic India and get the Dental treatment done without getting a hole in your pocket. Inspite of low cost, you are still getting Quality Treatment in India primarily due to low labor cost as compared to any other region in world viz. Middle East, Western European Countries & United States of America. Because, savings are only meaningful if the patient receives Quality Treatment, equal to or better than that available in their home country. Millions of people every year fly from USA, and Europe to tourist places in India for a grand holiday and dental treatment.

| 08.15.05 (8:00 pm) [edit] |
|
Kerala's Backwater is the backbone of tourism in Kerala. The Kerla backwaters which dates back over the centuries had been long used for all transportation needs and stretches over 1900 km.The most interesting area in the backwaters tourism is the Kuttanad region, called the rice bowl of Kerala. The largest backwater stretch is the Vembanad Lake, which opens out into the sea at the Cochin port and flows through the three districts-Alappuzha (Alleppey), Kottayam and Kochi. The Ashtamudi Lake has eight 'arms' covering a major portion of Kollam(formerly Quilon) district in the south, and is the second largest lake in the state. The major attraction of backwater tourism in Kerala is the houseboat trip, which adds extra thrill and excitement. The backwaters in Kerala plays a major role in the Kerala Tourism industry. It has become one of the 50 must see places in the world. Enjoying a cruise in these backwaters is not to be missed, as it leaves you feeling fully rejenuvated. The best way of experiencing the beauty of the backwaters in kerala is to cruise along either in a rented boat, a canoe or in Houseboats which are specifically for tourists. The houseboats, or Kettuvalloms as they are natively called, are giant boats measuring around 80 feet in length. They are constructed by tying wooden planks together with ropes made of coir(coconut husk) without using a single nail.
