Will Swine Flu Tamper a Promising Tourism Season in Kerala?
06.30.09 (12:30 am) [edit]
Swine Flu or H1N1 virus has been threatening the world for the last one month. The virus started entering various Countries and did not miss the heritage land of India. As we have feared, the Swine Flu also entered God's Own Country - Kerala. As per the news sources 3 Swine Flu cases have been so far reported in Kerala. The infected 2 person came to Kochi from London and the other person landed in Kozhikode from Dubai. 3 of them have been tested positive which send the alarm that we have to be indeed careful and try to take the necessary precautions.
If this virus spreads throughout this small state, the tourism business might take a set back. Because the tourism seasons is around the corner and such reported cases of Swine Flu and other epidemics may slow down the tourism industry in Kerala. To make the matter worse, the Kerala health department is not providing any adequate instructions and suggestions to the people, in order to prevent and take necessary precaution against this virus. Whenever any epidemics break out in Kerala, the Health Department has performed much below par and was never up to the mark, due to its bad infrastructure. Even the government is not interested in enhancing the infrastructure of the health department.
Since the tourism season in Kerala is about to start the Government should take high initiative to prevent this epidemic by providing sufficient funds and instructions to the health department. Otherwise the Government would be getting less revenue from the tourism industry.

The Dying Rivers of Kerala
01.20.06 (4:35 am) [edit]
|
Its very pity to hear that the once flourishing rivers of Kerala are on the verge of extinction. There may be many reasons behind this, but the irresponsive Kerala Government is not doing anything in particular to prevent. The reason is that the members of the Kerala Govt. are no more interested in the welfare of the natural resource of their state. They are more interested in making extra money by destroying the natural resources, by aiding the people in destructing the natural resources of the state. The ministers gets enough pocket money as bribes and as a result they forget their duties towards the state. Anyway these types of activties are never going to help in the growth of the financial infrastructure of the state as most of these natural resources have contributed a lot to the tourism industry in Kerala.

The Vembanad Lake, Kumarakom.
11.06.05 (11:10 pm) [edit]
Kottayam is a vast network of rivers and canals with a great expanse of water called the Vembanad Lake. The lake is an enchanting picnic spot and a fast developing backwater tourism destination and provides boating, fishing and sightseeing experiences that are truly exhilarating. The Kumarakom Tourist Village offers houseboat cruises and holiday packages. The serene lake comes alive during the festival of Onam with a spectacular water regatta - the snake boat races. It is indeed amazing to watch oarsmen, at least a hundred in one boat, slice their way through the waters to the fast rhythm of their own full throated singing.
